Leading Edge Childcare is focussed on ensuring each child has the opportunity to explore and develop their own identity through play based learning.
To realise the potential of all children, our service provides a nurturing, secure and stimulating learning environment, one that promotes happiness and a strong desire to learn. The primary aim is for children to increase their understanding of the world in which they live through development of broadly based knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to take the prerequisite steps in preparation for lifelong learning.
Our passionate and qualified educators design, implement and evaluate innovative and challenging programs that reflect the most contemporary early childhood theory and research that is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.
We believe that working closely, and building partnerships with families is vital, so children feel like we are an extension of their family home. We acknowledge family values and beliefs which welcomes diversity into our program.
About Us
Leading Edge Morayfield is a purpose-built childcare service and is licensed for 68 children per day, and the first childcare service that we opened for Leading Edge Childcare in October 2021.
Prior to opening the Morayfield Childcare service, we renovated the play spaces to create a more natural modern, homely boutique feel to the indoor spaces. We have also renovated two of the outdoor play spaces to create a more natural environment with more shade and plenty of opportunity for fine and gross motor development. Each studio has a separate yard to cater for the appropriate ages of children, these areas provide children the opportunity to flow between both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Our indoor spaces are well equipped with resources for each stage of development and interests as they emerge.
Our Morayfield Childcare service also has sensory and vegetable gardens, where the children enjoy weekly gardening classes, and learning about becoming a more sustainable community. Within this space we also have native Bees and the children have the opportunity during these classes to learn about them and how they live and contribute to our environment.
Our studios cater for children 6 weeks to 5 years for our long day care and 5 to 12 years for our Outside School Hours and Vacation Care.
All-inclusive to our daily fees are a variety of weekly programs including Music, Yoga, and Bush Kindy. We also work closely with Minimbah State School and have a pre-prep program to support our kindergarten studio’s transition to school. At an additional cost, we also provide Swimming Lessons to children aged 3yrs and older.
To make your drop-offs easier we supply all breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snacks with our qualified chef, and nappies, wipes and sunscreen are included in the daily fee.
Free Kindy
Our Morayfield centre is approved under the Queensland government’s Free Kindy program. Kindy is for children aged at least 4 years of age by 30 June in the year before they attend Prep. Kindy is 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year and is free for Queensland children attending a government-approved kindergarten program. Talk to our team to learn more about your free kindy options.

Funded Kindergarten Program
Our Funded Kindergarten program is run by a teacher with 18 yrs experience in Early Years Primary School. We also have a Diploma Qualified Educator who supports the teacher within the program.
Our kindergarten children participate in a Prep- Readiness program at Minimbah State School, as well as other extracurricular programs.
Sports Program With Dansland
Our sessions promote the use of movement and physical exercise to achieve good health & wellbeing.
Each week, the activities and games we play progress in difficulty to promote the natural development of your child’s skills and abilities.
Music Program With Dansland
Our music programs are designed to nurture cognitive growth through interactive play and to develop increased motor function.
This is achieved by engaging children through rhythm, rhymes, and sound diversities that develop their emotional intelligence and aid in preparing them for life outside of early education.
Swimming Lessons
Our swimming lessons are with Kickin’ it swim school, who are a family-owned and operated swim school in Burpengary.
They pride themselves on their ability to encourage even the most reluctant child to participate and enjoy their lessons and are dedicated to teaching children how to swim and be safe in and around the water.
Bush Kindy and Sustainability Learning
Our bush kindy programs are run by our bush kindy leader who designs programs to support children’s natural curiosity to the outside world. Each program is tailored to an area that support children’s growing advocacy to the natural world whilst promoting sustainable practices so that even our littlest of learners grow with a vision to protect, care and nurture the natural environments.
Library Visits
Our library visits are all about getting out and about in our community and utilising local avenues to create positive connections. Children have the opportunity to engage in library led learning experiences such as storytelling, puppet shows, block play and colouring in, as well as venturing through the library and selecting their own books to read during the visit. With lots of cosy places to hunker down, the library is where we support children’s love for literacy
Gardening Classes
The children participate in gardening classes at the service and learn about sustainability.
Intergenerational program
Our intergenerational program is all about getting out and about in our community and utilising local avenues to create positive change. This program invites children to visit the local aged care home and engage in activities with the elderly to promote positive connections, offer friendship and stimulate, support and nourish the minds of both young and old.
